It sounds like maybe you did have a chemical, as someone else mentioned. That would explain an early BFP followed by a BFN.
As for a short LP - you need to talk to your doctor about that. I don't know much about the b vitamins, but I do know the NPC is not going to do anything. If you read the research on it, NPC is classified as cosmetic because it does not absorb into the skin and into your bloodstream - like hand or body lotion. You can only get progesterone supplements through a prescription.

This is not true. I have had a short LP- got AF at 9-10 DPO for the past 4 cycles. I used NP cream this month and lengthend my LP- and got a BFP. My DOCTOR recommended it before going the synthetic route, as well as the acupuncturist I consulted with.

I saw a difference in my post-O temps this cycle as well. For the previous cycles, my post-O temps were very low. With this cycle, my post -O temps were exactly what they had been when I first started charting 18 months ago (when I got my BFP with DD).

I am so sorry Chat Icon . I want you to try the natural progesterone cream- I think it will really help. Just make sure that the cream you buy has NO crazy herbs in it (Dong Quai, sawgrass, evening primrose) to name a few. Those herbs are bad to take in the 2WW.

Interesting-- cause I have a tea that is called Women's Dong Quai which I have been drinking because I thought it would HELP me... I wonder if this f*cked me up?

I am going to look for the cream and get B6 this week. I am sorta hanging around waiting for my doc to call me-- even though she is going to call my cell, this is not a conversation to be held in public!

Ah- I went back and I checked my resources. Dong Quai should be fine for you- but I have the added worry of taking something that is safe to use while breastfeeding. So THATS why I was looking for creams w/o it. Sorry about the confusion.Chat Icon

no worries.... I have two different Yogi teas-- both to promote healthy reproductive systems... I figured, it couldn't hurt.

So, um, where do you put the cream?

You have to put it on areas with thin skin (neck, chest, palms, insides of arms). I just use an amount the size of a pea, twice a day.

i really don't think that the test was defective. it sounds like you had a chemical PG. it's entirely possible for one test to detect super low levels of HCG and the other tests not to show a line... and because it didn't "stick" that is why your HCG levels don't seem to be going up, and why you might now be getting your period.

it happens more often than we think, because it usually happens very early in pregnancy and women assume that their period is just a day or two late.

i hope that you get some answers soon Chat Icon

The thing is, my period is early-- not late. I had spotting throughout the 2ww, and it was more of a constant starting at 8DPO-- happening every day after that. Now at 12 DPO, this spotting is getting heavier-- so, I can only assume it is in fact my period. It's still very dark brown blood, just more of it.

I'm sorryChat Icon
However your period coming early would support the chemical theory. A chemical is pregnancy that is lost before AF is supposed to show. SO as soon as the pregnancy was lost you would get AF.. which also might explain why it is starting so weird.

Ok no need to be nasty. I have done a lot of research on everything since i have so many fertility problems. If there is low progesterone during the 2ww there is a chance the pregnancy won't stick.

Getting an actual progesterone supplement will give you much higher progesteone levels than a cream.
And FYI, progesterone supplements are not synthetic, as synthetic progesterone (i.e. provera) is not good to use in pregnancy.

Randi, do you think you always have a short LP or just this time? Its possible you could have released a "bad" egg and the corpus luteum didn't produce enough progesterone, that doesn't mean it will happen every time.

with a chemical it really doesn't matter when you get your period. it's just usually late. i am hoping that it was just either a false positive on the HPT or that you get your BFP this month Chat Icon

Re: So, I think I am officially the 1%

false positives are VERY VERY rare and the only one i actually heard of turned out to be a chemical preg.
