There has to be SOME perk to DH being in a foreign country for a week.

what part of germany is he going to?
the black forrest area has a few cool wood carving shops... i got a gorgeous jewelry box from there when we went....
other than that, the chocolate is awesome... or a peice of jewelry works, too. i have a garnet pendent ( my birthstone) that DH got me when we were dating and he went to prague.. i still wear it like every day.

Tell him to bring some of the Autobahn back with home...the roads around NYC suck right now! 
I miss the Autobahn 
I guess some sort of snacks and candies are good. He won't be able to bring back uncooked meat.

I bought an authentic cookoo clock in the black forest area. It really does cookoo. You have to hang it in a spot where it wont wake you up at night

-A dirndl dress for your DD!
-My friend always brings me cool, well-made kitchen gadgets when she visits (ie: a spaetzle maker, really cool s & p mills, etc...)
-lebkuchen (although is that just made around Christmas?)
