I had a Dr's appt today and...
she asked me what Ive been eating and I said...lol everything. She didnt find it too funny and said I gained 8 lbs this month and I need to watch what I eat  I am 21 weeks and have gained 16 lbs, Is this really bad??

jerk.
I gained like 6 pounds in 2 weeks last month.
I had a doctor at my practice tell me to watch what I gained, and I switched to a different doctor! My new guy says- as long as you think you're fine, I'm fine. I love him.

tell her to relax! i think it's funny!! plus everyone is different...you may not gain a pound next month so what's wrong with that!!

i don't see what's bad about that weight gain amount. you're in a big growth period for the baby. tell your doc to get a sense of humour

Dont worry, I dont know what I had gained at that point but I gained 50lbs total! Its not the end of the world....
ETA: 10weeks PP I have about 10lbs to go, and honestly I have done nothing to try to lose any of that weight...It will come off!

I told the doc in the beginning that I am going to gain alot of weight b/c I quit smoking and she just needs to leave me alone

I actually just started to loose weight but that's probably because I am at the very end. I gained a total of 32 pounds throughout the entire pregnancy.
