Do you donate to the ASPCA or Shelters??
I was just wondering if you ever donate money or time to them etc. My hubby and I just donated money this past weekend to Brookhaven Animal Shelter and PPRA Precious Pug Rescue and Adoption. It was just an awesome feeling once we did it. Reading all those sad stories just pulls at my heart strings. Just had to share.

Yes, we donate to several rescue orgs including the ASPCA, Puppymillrescue.org, Bobby and the Strays (where we adopted Bruno from), and the LI Greyhound rescue. We have also donated to dogs that are not adoptable at local no-kill shelters & rescue orgs.
It is a great way to save dogs that you yourself are unable to adopt. Kudos for helping

We always donate to ASPCA and Little Shelter.
You can also buy products from A Greater Good, and they donate procedes to local shelters, etc.

Yes. I donate money and they love to get old blankets, towels and sheets that you no longer need.

Animal Haven
Little Shelter
Valley Stream Cat rescue
Angel's Gate
Rescue groups
aspca
etc
Whatever charity hits me at the moment...

Both. When my step-father died we took donations for the Human Society of Bay County. Tom loved animals so much it seemed fitting, and I think he would have liked that I donate left over soft food and some times I'll buy a bag of cat or dog food to take to the shelter. All our old blankets and rags go there. I like to think that even though I can't adopt them all I can help a little

All of the charities I donate to are animal related. So many people ignore the suffering of animals...I can't stand it. I try to donate to both local shelters and organizations whenever I can. I also organized an animal club at the school where I teach and the kids have been great contributors. They are so eagar to help and get involved. We just finished a supply drive for a local shelter.

I donated to the ASPCA a few times. Now they send me donation requests constantly with address labels in them. CONSTANTLY!

What bothers me about the Humane Society - they send out TONS of crap - mugs, stickers, wrappinig paper, all kinds of stuff. I've asked them just to please put my $$ towards the animals and forget the promotional materials, but it doesn't stop....

i remember we chatted about this some time ago. They have to let you opt out or they are in violation of Direct Mail/SPAM laws. If you gently remind them this it might make things easier. The problem is most people will only donate when they get those promo items, so it has become their "control" so to speak.

i used to donate to the ASPCA until i got a ridiculous amount of "gifts" in the mail from them with donation requests. i called them several times and told them to put my money toward the animals, not calendars and address labels.
when i still continued to get it i called them and told them i would never give them another dime. they spent more on my "gifts" than i was even able to give them. what a waste when there are starving and sick animals that need caring for a loving homes
