Spinoff to induction thread (with poll)
For those of you that have been induced before, how long did your labor last (from the time you entered the hospital until the time you delivered)? TIA
Also, did you end up delivering vaginally or end up with a c-section?

Re: Spinoff to induction thread (with poll)
I was induced, but not with Pitocin. They gave me Cervadil to thin me out, and then broke my water, and I progressed on my own, and delivered vaginally.

Re: Spinoff to induction thread (with poll)
Entered the hospital at 8am. Delivered my son at 9:51pm. So about 14 hours, but it wasn't 14 hours of hard labor..it's a slower process to start labor and get things going.
Mine was vaginal.

Re: Spinoff to induction thread (with poll)
Started the cervadil around 8:00pm, delivered vaginally at 8:22am. Never needed the pitocin, the cervadil started the contractions right away and I dialated relatively quickly.
Sometimes all you need is a little "push" to get labor started.

Re: Spinoff to induction thread (with poll)
I got to the hospital around 11, my water had already broken, but I wasn't having contractions. They started the Pitocin around 12ish and I delivered vaginally just after 7pm.

Re: Spinoff to induction thread (with poll)
I wasn't exactly induced...I went into labor on my own, but it was "prolonged labor" that wasn't productive enough. They broke my water and gave me pitocin to move things along. I got to the hospital around 5pm, they broke my water soon therafter, gave me the pitocin a few hours later, and Ella was born at 1am.
(this was after laboring at home for a day and a half!)

Re: Spinoff to induction thread (with poll)
11 hours from start to finish, and I delivered vaginally.
And I went in at 37.5 weeks, so I had 0 effacement or dilation.

Re: Spinoff to induction thread (with poll)
I was induced with DD2. It took 6 hours from start to finish and I delivered vaginally.
The success of an induction depends on the Bishop;s score beforehand. Here is a link with more info. Bishop's Score
