registry peeking

Ok so i'm now 36 weeks 4 day along, still no shower and none in sight and when I peeked only about a dozen things were bought. So now i'm serioulsy stressing that I'm going to have to make a run for things or have DH do so right after the baby is born. Granted some of the things bought were our bigger items but not one diaper, bottle, or towel/clothing has been bought.. this is not what I need know. Sorry just needed to vent.

i know you are upset but just try and relax. worst case scenario, your DH can buy a few necessities while you are in the hospital, but i seriously doubt it will come to that.

you must be stressing. Did you ever tell your mom how you feel? You should at least know the date of the shower, so you can put off the stress of not knowing.
Make a good list of things you absolutely need for the first few weeks.
And make your mom run to the store for anything you are missing, since it's her fault you couldn't.

yes I finally let out my stress last night to my mom and she actually said that she would cancel it because I didn't seem to appreciate that she was even giving me a shower..
I tried to explain that I do appreciate it but why in hell did she wait until my 9th month.... and well into my 9th month I should add... to have the shower. She said that's when they are supposed to be, I said no no no , more like 7 or even 8 months. I only have 3 weekends left until my actualy due date and nothing is coming up but one party which I have helped arrange so I know it's not that. Why would they let me be in charge of people resonding and buying favors if it was my shower and I bought 75th birthday favors for my grandfathers party.

I'm sos orry.
Did you try asking her nicely to just tell you when it is? She may have gotten defensive if you asked with obviously requited frustration- I know my mom gets touchy like that too.
Tell her you really just need some peace of mind, beg her- and tell her that you feel like it's making your BP rise. Reiterate that you so very much appreciate it, and can't wait- it's going to be a blast, because she's the best planner on earth ever.



what on earth would she do if you went early? 3 weeks? I would kill my mom.

You poor thing!! Just try not to stress out and know that there is definitely a shower!!

Maybe your mom is just being defensive because she realized too late that the shower was not very well planned out being so late in your pregnancy!!

I'd be in a rage if my mom did that too and then accused me of being ungrateful!!

Yeah, ask your mom when your shower is, tell her you're stressing and need to know!

I tried asking her when it was ... she refuses to tell me just said that it's before my due date. But I mean geez I don't know what she was thinking waiting until this close to my due date.
She keeps telling me that I came 2 weeks late, I said yes I understand that but guess what every pregnancy is different, hell some woman go a month early.
