Have you ever questioned your faith?
I come from a strict religious hispanic Catholic family..
For years i've had some concerns about the roman catholic church, hence why i got married at my reception hall..
But for months now, I've been even questioning EVERYTHING..I honestly at this point don't really believe there is a God What's weird is that I'm still observing Lent but maybe it's just out of habit
I don't know.... Anyone ever go through something similar

i think it's normal, especially when difficult challenges happen in your life.

I never questioned my faith, but there was a short amount of time when I was younger that I questioned the existance of God.

there have been times where i've questioned the validity of things i've been told/read. but i've never questioned my entire belief system and trust in God. thats too strong to break.

Re: Have you ever questioned your faith?
In short: Yes.
I've lost a lot of faith in the Catholic Church. I don't feel that the current state of the church is such that I want to be a part of it anymore. There's so much corruption--but I guess it's been that way for thousands of years.
I definitely believe in God, and I do plan on exposing our children to the Catholic faith by attending services, but I can't honestly say I feel very "connected" to them as an institution.

Re: Have you ever questioned your faith?
i havent questioned the existence of God, but have had major thoughts/concerns about the Catholic church, especially with the events of recent years. It directly impacted my family's parish, and I haven't been able to step in there since. I did still wind up getting married in the church, but found one that I felt much more comfortable with. I still have concerns, but am trying to work through them.
If you ever want to chat about it, FM me!

ITA especially when I hear about children diagnosed with cancer or when anything bad happens to children.

Re: Have you ever questioned your faith?
yes--i have decided to distance myself from my religion, as has most of my family. i feel that i do not need to be part of an organized religion to have faith in something, and i have not yet found an organized church that i truly believe in. i researched many just before i met DH. just because you're brought up in something doesn't mean it's inherently "you"

Re: Have you ever questioned your faith?
I question EVERYTHING it's just my nature.
The fact that I disagree with the Catholic Church on many things doesn't actually shake my faith. It's an organization, it's not God. The views of the church have been shaped by human leaders and societal values throughout the ages.
For example I think a lot of the people who are very vocal against gay rights are IMO going against God. God may homosexuals. God loves homosexuals. Hating them is not what Jesus would do in my opinion. Wasn't he the one who embraced lepers and prostitutes and the poor and everyone? Also, Jesus said exactly zero about homosexuality. It's one of these things where we still follow the OT, even though much was superceded by the NT. It's all about how people want to USE the Bible in some cases, though i don't think Catholics are nearly the worst on this particular issue.
There is no religious group that has 100% handle (or nearly that) on God, God speaks to everyone in different ways.
