If not family, $50 check or $100 savings bond. If family, and I could afford it, $100 check or savings bond.

For good friends, I give $125-150 or I get a bond for double that.

Re: How much would you give for a christening

honestly, I didn't tally up amounts. I was happy that people came and shared in the day. It's not a wedding, and I appreciated the gifts very much whatever they were.

Oh trust me, I appreciate all the gifts my son receieved, it's just one in particular that has me a little tweaked....
I just wanted to see what the consensus was to maybe open my eyes a little.....

Is it at a place? I don't think that matters for I believe the $ for the child should go towards the childs account and not the party.

With that said, good friends $100 bond or $150 check.
Family higher depending on the relationship.

Re: How much would you give for a christening

Dh and I give $100 as a couple. If we had two kids I would probably say $150-200 depending on who the people were to me.

Re: How much would you give for a christening

Is there a "party" or get together for the actual christening? If at a restaurant, I would give $150 (I would do $100 for just a couple). If at a house, then $100 would be fine IMO.

Re: How much would you give for a christening

Usually $50-75. If it's close family or friends that number goes up quite a bit. But DH has such a big family we are constantly going to christenings, showers, weddings, communions, etc. So we simply just can't afford to do more.
