Re: Spitting up?
It depends. My son spits up ALL day long. Sometimes with a burp, sometimes just sitting in his bouncy seat, during diaper changes... We go through at least 8 bibs a day.
I think you only have to worry if they spit up the entire bottle immediatly after every feeding.
Some babies are just heavy spitters. They are supposed to grow out of it by 6 months or so....my son is 5 months and I'm counting the days...
As I'm sitting here typing this...my Kevin spit up twice

Re: Spitting up?
Cassidy used to spit up CONSTANTLY. All day long, she was never without a bib. ALthough they say they're supposed to outgrow it at 6 mos, at 8 mos she was still going strong, so I was referred to a gastroenterologist. They started her on Zantac, didn't do a thing so I tekk her off and by 9 months she was spit up free....FINALLY I know, it $ucks, but hopefully it'll get better soon!!!!!

Re: Spitting up?
Ahhhh yes, I think today Alex went through about 6 outfits and I went through about 4 different t-shirts because of her spitups! And that was through a burpee! Granted, she has a mild cold so the mucous is making her spit up more, but really, it's normal as long as it's not the entire feeding

Re: Spitting up?
As long as she's not in pain I wouldn't worry too much. My daughter cries with her spit ups and often doesnt want to eat after and was also very fussy with her feedings....this lead to her acid reflux diagnosis. I have heard that some babies are just happy spitters.

Re: Spitting up?
When I was leaving the hospital the nurse told me that it's normal for a baby to spit up often as long as it isn't projectile vomiting. If it was projectile I'd be worried. However in the beginning Emily definately spit up more often then she does now. She had quite a few where even I had to change my clothes.
