Petfinder - the tv show
Has anyone seen these commercials on Animal Planet? They're launching all these new shows and one of them is partnering people with pets.
When I went to their website, I found out they actually purchased Petfinder. This is the only thing I could find on it:
Application to be on the Petfinder series
I was happy to see it, thinking it will give Petfinder great publicity. Although I worry about what will happen to it, now that it's owned by Discovery/Animal Planet.

I'd be concerned that the applicants are more interested in getting on TV rather than finding a good forever home for a needy pet.
I hate to be skeptical, but for what it is worth I feel that way about the Bachelor(ette) also
ETA: But if it helps the general public aware of adoption then I suppose it serves the purpose.

I saw a commercial for this the other day and admit that I thought it was kind of strange. I also fear that a lot of candidates are solely there to get their "15 minutes of fame". Hopefully Animal Planet/Discovery will see through that and will put the needs of the animals before ratings.
