"We were contacted by a friend of a friend about Calvin, this gorgeous Black Lab boy. Seems that there was a tragedy in a young family - the husband died suddenly, leaving behind a young wife, a 13-month old baby, and, of course, his beloved dog, Calvin. His widow had to move out of their house into a condo - but that is not the problem. She is unable to control this big lug of a dog, and is too overwhelmed in her own grief and worry to figure out how to fix the problem. This is understandable. Calvin is a loving, sweet companion towards his family. They found him several years ago tied up in a junk yard, and just kept him.

Calvin has had a good life so far. However, since his person died, he is overly protective of the family. Calvin, too, is grieving. He is confused and doesn't know who it is that he should listen to. It was the husband who gave him leadership, not the wife. She moved Calvin to her parents' home, but he cannot stay there too long. Calvin needs a new home - a nice quiet, peaceful home. From all accounts, he is usually a friendly, loving, faithful Lab. However, HE DOES NOT LIKE ANYTHING ON WHEELS - GETS HIM VERY STRESSED. And, he has chased after neighborhood kids on skateboards. Calvin is confused and in mourning. I would say, we're looking for someone who knows dogs, more specifically, Labs, and can give Calvin the sense of security he has lost."
