How is your search for a doggie going? Have you narrowed down to a few breeds/rescue orgs?

hello dear...
yes, we've narrowed the search down to two breeds. Either an english bulldog or a bullmastiff.
My husband wants the bulldog and I want the mastiff. Right now we're at an impass...
Honestly though, I love both breeds, I'm just worried about the bulldog and all the know health issues they can have. The mastiff seems to come with fewer issues.
Oh and of course there's always the option of going to the shelter an resucing a dog... That option has not been taken off the table just yet.

It is very close to having a child. We always say that. Attention, love, safety, food, dr visits, needs, wants, sad and happy times. At least you can go out for dinner though and leave that doggie at home alone. And no college bills.
