Am I am pessimist or a realist

What do you think???

My personal feeling based on many months of "swearing that I am pregnant" make me so negative on this kind on stuff. I am such a downer about pregnancy symptoms

My opinion.. based on no medical backgroundChat Icon .. is that HPT detect such a low level of hcg.. so if you have enough hormone in you to experince symptoms... you should have a positive test. I just don't think you could have enough hormones to experince symptoms and get a negative test.

The only month I got my BFP (however brief the pg was) I had no symptoms whatsoever until I got the BFP.. That day I felt quezy and tired. Last month I started to feel "symptoms" about 8DPO. I got a BFN on 8DPO.. but I convinced myself It was too early. I COULD HAVE SWORN that I was PG. But when at 12DPO I still got a BFN I knew it was a true BFN because if I REALLY had symptoms at 8DPO I would have most definitely had a BFP at 8DPO or very soon after. I am trying to remind myself of this every day and I am quite rational the first two weeks of every month but something snaps inside of me after Ovualtion and all this wonderful insight goes right out the window.

So based on that do you think it scientifically possible to feel something, symptom wise, at 2 or 3 dpo, when implantation doesn't occur until 5-10dpo? Am I just being a downer or a realist? I am starting to think that analying symptoms before AT THE VERY LEAST 9DPO is just nuts..And thus I am making myself crazy over something that is not possible to feel so early on. What is your opinon?

p.s., Can you tell that I am trying to force myself to totally ignore some symptoms that will make me nutso for the next 6 days.. ???????

This is a good question. I was wondering this myself. I'm curious to see what others think.

Well with my 2nd baby, I got my BFP 10dpo, but I pretty much knew I was PG from 7 dpo, based on symptoms I was having.

Re: Am I am pessimist or a realist

I am with you Tricia...Since I have never gotten a BFP & have had months were I thought for sure I was PG based on the symptoms!!! Now here I am, trying my hardest to not even think if the littlest symptoms I am experiencing...Most of the women in my family that I have spoken to (I know every is different), said they had absolutely not one symptom that they were PG until they got their BFP & all were after they were late.

I know that it is a difficult philosophy to go by, but I am trying my best to convince myself that testing before AF is truly late is wasteful! Why upset myself with seeing the BFN, especially when I have had the symptoms before & got the BFN. You even said it yourself, you had not one the month you got the BFP! So why toture yourself?!?!

Try to relax & make this holiday week special with your DH & not ruin it with the possiblity that you might see a BFN! I know that I have tempted myself to test (don't have one in the house though) & even said to DH, wouldn't it be nice to know on Christmas but I am not due for AF until the 28th! Stay strong!!!!! Re: Am I am pessimist or a realist

The truth is that your progesterone goes up in your luteal phase if you are PG or not. There are physiological changes that will happen in your body regardless of if the egg gets fertilized or if it does not. The body is preparing the endometrium in the event that there is implantation. If there is no implantation, the progesterone drops and you get a period. It stinks and it feels like our bodies are playing tricks on us. I hope it gets easier for everyone.
