What would YOU do?? Friend related...
My DD's 1st Birthday Party is this weekend. I sent an invite to a friend that hasn't been much of a "friend" lately. Our friendship rides more on past history than a recent relationship.
So the question being... I sent her an invite to the party and she is yet to RSVP. Do I go out of my way to ask her if she is coming or leave it up to her to RSVP?
I almost feel like I am the one who stretched out my arm to extend the invite and she is the one (out of courtesy) needs to respond.
Any thoughts - what would you do?

Do you HAVE to have a response from her? Can you let it ride out and see what she does? If she doesn't come and doesn't show... that answers all your questions right there.

No, I don't HAVE to have a response, I am not paying per plate.
I think the curiosity is what is killing me.....

I wouldn't go out of my way to ask her if she's coming, if she hasn't been acting like a good friend lately. I'd probably just assume she isn't, and be pleasantly surprised if she does.

Then I would let her make the next step. If she feels the relationship is worth saving then she'll make the effort. I don't blame you for curiousity though I'd be wondering the same if I was in your shoes.

Re: What would YOU do?? Friend related...
Well....I was in this situation this summer in a different way. It was my wedding and we were having the same issue....she never RSVP'd or called. She never came and so I cut ties. It's been 5months and she called me yesterday telling me she missed me and why did I not invite her to Tgiving?? HEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOO you little snake....Our friendship is OOOOOOVVVVVVVEEEEEEERRRR. I told here I was sorry she felt excluded, but when she never even acknoledged(?) my wedding our friendship was over, a nd I would love to chat but I had guests over. Well she was mad, but I made my point......So I would just ride it out. If she's a no-show then you know your "friendship" is over Lots of

I wouldn't ask her. She should respond on her own accord. If you hear nothing then you know where you stand after this.....

I have that with a few select people for this weekend and ya know what...no way. For me its the same attention pattern these 2 people have exhibited for yrs so either they show up or they dont. I also dont need an exact count so IMO...I would leave it.

Balls in her court - I wouldn't call to see if she's coming - as the previous posters said - her actions will speak louder than words.

If it were a good friend I would call and see if she was coming. If she didn't respond after you called she would be cut from my life.
