Do you ever wish you paid more attention...

to your cycles before you went on the pill? This would've been when I was about 21! I think I remember them being pretty regular, but I wish I took more notice so I'd kind of know what to expect when I finally do go off the pill.

I remember what it was like before BCP & that is one of the reasons I went on it. I had extremely heavy AF's & such cramping. I was on a regular cycle of 28 days!

Now I thought I was regulated but apparantly that didn't happen just yet or I had an off month! Otherwise, the cramping & heavy AF has returned

Yes - I was on the pill for so many years that I have no idea what my cycles were like!

I was very irregular before going on the pill...I had painful periods (mostly b/c I was cystic).

Off the pill 3 years now and my cycles are nothing like they were...so I'm not sure if being aware of them prior, would make a difference now.

I had very irregular cycles before going on BCP (I was 19 when I went on) and expected to have issues when I went off in February (almost 10 years later). Lucky for me my cycles regulated immediately and I got AF about 26 days after going off BCP and then for the next 4 months until I got pg my cycles were around 24/25 days.

yes! i wish i had paid more attention and knew more about my body in general. i do remember my cycles being very regular (28 days) before BCP but never paid attention to when i ovulated. now (3 months off BCP), my cycles are rather long and irregular.

I paid attention. I went on the pill in the fall of 1991 at 21 years old and stayed on it untii early 2006 just before I turned 36. During the course of that time, I think I may have been on 3 or 4 different pills as some had side effects I couldnt handle. Before the pill, AF stayed for 6 days with 3 days of full flow and my cycles were not regular at all. When I was on the pill, my cycles were no longer than 4 days TOPS and not one day of heavy flow. When I went off the pill, my cycles became regular very quickly and they are still 4 days long. It got better as I got older.

I did pay attention . . . it was one of the reasons I went on the pill to begin with. Before BCP my cycles were anywhere from 10 to 40 days long, with 7-14 days of flow.

The years of being on BCP actually helped though, b/c when I came off to start TTC for the first time in my life I had 28 day cycles.
