Is anyone else ...

getting tired of the waiting? Chat Icon

Personally, I feel like its taking way too long for this to happen. I see that there are so many of us who want it and want it bad, but the results seem far away.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer with this, but how long do you keep trying and see the RE before you think about alternatives like adoption?

I'm sorry we are all going through this.

I am so tired of waiting too!!! I keep wondering if this will ever happen. It's soooo frustrating. I think I am out again, and this was our 4th or 5th month trying. I'm thinking if I don't get a BFP by December (8 months ttc), I am going to make an appointment with an RE to have things checked out. I'm not getting any younger!

Personally, I've never considered adoption and I'm not sure if that's something my DH and I would want to do. We never really talked about it.

My grandma was TTC for 10 years before she had my mom! Imagine waiting that long... can you imagine.

Re: Is anyone else ...

TTC is just one big wait, no matter what part of your cycle you are in! I for one have found that when the time is right for the next step, whatever that may be, I know it. TTC has been a huge investment of my emotions, energy, time, money, sanity, blood taken at the RE Chat Icon, etc. so I can't get too far ahead of myself.

Re: Is anyone else ...

I hear ya! Unfortunately I believe we are out again this month too...I tested this morning & got a BFN, I was 13DPO! So if AF doesn't show up, it is safe to say we are onto month 5. I have been a rollercoaster of emotions & just using way too much energy on this TTC. I told DH that I think I need to take a more reserved approach this month & just go with the flow but continue the OPK's.

If we are not PG by December, I will be calling the RE.

I feel the same way. I knew it could take a while to happen but I guess i didn't realize how much waiting was involved until you actually start to TTC. The first two months I was fine but this third month was horribile. It helps to know that everyone else is going through the same thing, so we can all help wach other during the wait. I was actually going to make a doctors appointent for next month becasue its time for my yearly exam and see what the doctor says. I think its way to early for me to go see an RE though.
Good luck to everyone Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Is anyone else ...

It is definitely tough and I asked this same question on the Infertility board and I got a lot of great advice. For the most part they said go with your gut and that's what I did after 6 months off the pill and 5 months seriously trying we decided to start the process of figuring out what is going on.

The waiting is awful and like every other month I am still keeping all my fingers and toes crossed but I do feel better knowing that we are taking steps to increase our chances! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

We're not even TTC, and I agree! Chat Icon

SEriously, I overanalyze everything, and I'm so worried about how long it might take - terrible, I know - I feel like I've been thinking about all of the possible situations for months now!

I totally understand how you feel. It's like every month I am just waiting to O and then rushing for the 2ww to be over and before I know it another month has passed.

Its on my mind all the time. I am always wondering when will it happened. Its hard to stay positive with all the negatives I get each month but I do and the thought of having Chat Icon Chat Icon in my arms again one day is enought to get through the months.

Re: Is anyone else ...

This is our 6th month TTC. I was obcessing too much and I was getting all stressed out about it. Now I decided to just let it go and not try so hard. I did start using the fertility monitor this month, so whatever happens, happens....Yes it's been a hard process, I never dreamed it would take this long....I know it's hard not to obcess over this specially when you want it so bad, but I have to say I feel a little calmer now that I just said screw it whatever happens, happens....Good luck sweetie don't loose hope!!!

Re: Is anyone else ...

The waiting stinks. We have been trying for over a year and with each passing cycle, the difficulty increases.

We have discussed this and decided that we would not consider alternatives until we have exhausted every single effort to try to conceive on our own. We owe that to ourselves. One year in TTC land (even with IF issues as in our case) is not a lot of time. The one thing we have against us is time. We are both 37. Even still, we don't know if we would be inclined to adopt.

I am close to your age, so I hear you on the time thing. I have an appt with an RE this Monday; while I know I have conceived, I had a m/c and judging by these past few months, it is not going to be easy to conceive again, as I thought it would be. I just refuse to wait around anymore and get older and older while everyone else in my life is pregnant or done having their children. The whole things sucks, I just wish it could be easier!!
