another opk question - PLEASE HELP - UPDATE

I tested on day 11 (today) because I have no idea how long my cycle will be post m/c....so I got two lines, even, not super dark, but purple and existent....does that qualify as a positive or will the lines get darker? The lines are not light, sort of "medium"... Just wondering if it's a "false positive" I have noticed white cm the past few days so who knows..

Thanks!!

UPDATE:

So today's test showed two lines, the test line slightly darker, which I know means positive. This was on an Answer brand test. I also bought tests online from that site, you have to pee in a cup first....I decided for some crazy reason to test with that as well at the same time....that test shows negative, the test line is there, but lighter. What the heck??? Which is correct??? I have a feeling my cycle is crazy, maybe I'm not ovulating...I did see CM, the other day, but that does not mean anything.. We BD today, yesterday and this past Thurs...not sure now....any ideas? Yesterday's test, on an Answer one, showed two even lines.

Re: another opk question - regarding the darkness of the lines..

The second line should be just as dark or darker than the control line. Good luck..Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

You have to compare the test line with the control line. If the test line is as dark as or darker than the control line, it is a positive. If it's fainter than the control line, it is negative.

I'm the same way. When I get 2 lines on the opk, I get so excited to see anything positive, you'd think it was a bfp! Chat Icon

Re: another opk question - regarding the darkness of the lines..

Just remember not to save them and look at them later. Get the results after 3 minutes (or whatever the package says) then do not look at the stick again. It can play tricks on you. If it looks positive at the time you are supposed to check it, you probably have no need to question it and it is your O time!!!!!!!!

Re: another opk question - PLEASE HELP - UPDATE

hmm, for me, I would not have tested with another "brand" as it may not be as sensitive. If the pee line is darker, then I would say it is safe to say you are set to ovulate in the next 24-48 hours....Chat Icon

Re: another opk question - PLEASE HELP - UPDATE

I've read on Fertility Friend that a lot of people have been getting false positives on the Answer brand OPKs. One poster had gotten I think 10 or so positives in a row!
Something to consider - maybe the second OPK you did (the negative one) was the correct one.
