Online Charting

How do they actually determine that you've O'd? Is it based solely on temps or a combo of temps and "average cycles"?

Fertilityfriend.com is saying I O'd Thursday...but that would put me at a 28 day cycle.....or a really, super long LT. I have been using an OPK for the past 6 days now (b/c my cycles vary from 30-34 and it's fun to test LOL) and no surge.

My temps rose on Sat (but I think it was b/c I took it a good 1.5 hours hours after I usually do)...and then Sunday was higher than usual.

Is all this preparation really worth it (b/c I'm going nutty right about now)?!??

I believe it is a combination of temps, cervical fluid, OPKS and anything else that is typically symptomatic of ovulation. The more information you give the site/program, the better it can work for you.

i agree. temps can give you a pretty good idea of when you ovulated if you take them at the same time each morning. i also chart my CM and the combination of those 2 help me to determine my ovulation date. i also use fertility friend and have agreed with the o date they calculate as well (so far anyway).

you don't have to temp if you don't want to and don't think it's worth it. you can use CM or OPK to determine when to BD. however, temps do help to see if you are preggo (temps will remain high) through the 2 WW and beyond.

The temps/OPK combo is better for me because I do not always produce the CM that most people do. Fertility Friend was still able to establish my O date accurately.

Re: Online Charting

This is the first month I am charting and temping...I was previously just going by CM. It is also the fist time I'm using OPKs...I have been testing since CD 9 - no surge yet FF says I already O'd. Chat Icon

I guess I need another month to figure it all out (on to month 5 with a BFN I guess Chat Icon).
