Do you have anything on your wooden stairs?

When we move upstaris and get rid of the tenants, I feel like I want to do something to the stairs.

I am a freak when it comes to falling down a flight of stairs, and we have very ugly stick on mats that I hate.

Do you have anything on your stairs?

Nothing right now but we will be getting a runner before DC are mobile... soonChat Icon I wanted to wait as long as possible, easier to clean that way.

Right now, I have nothing... I love the way it looks with just the finished wooden steps, but it is VERY slippery!

Re: Do you have anything on your wooden stairs?

Where did you get the runner?
Did a carpet place install it?

I really think we need to get one.
DH comes home really late on the weekends from gigs, so I need it to be quiet when he comes up the stairs.

<--- Yes, we had the carpet cut into a runner for the stairs when we had it installed upstairs.

Re: Do you have anything on your wooden stairs?

We have a runner that I put on mostly for my dog to get up and down. He could not do it without the runner. Would slip and was so afraid.

Now I love having it. It feels so much better when you walk up and down (and sounds better too!).

It is so cute. My dog loves to lay up there, looking out the front window, like it is his little perch.

A carpet place installed it for us. I went with a nontraditional one, more Berber looking and I love the way it came out.

those runners are so pretty... i would love to do something like that---but i could totally see myself wiping out... and it wouldn't be pretty. we have 15 stairs on one flight!

i also like stair baskets, but they take up a lot of room

I have a nice stair basket...but it sort of gets in the way so we dont use it anymore.

I think I definitely need to get one, especially for my dog. The poor thing slides all over on the wood floors as it is! Chat Icon

I saw that some of your stopped at the top step, leaving the hallway with the wood. Good to know, I"ll just get a loose runner for the hall.

The previous owners left it (I asked them to), but I know they installed it themselves. I actually need to replace it eventually, it looks a little worn out in person.

Yes I debated on this very thing, to put a runner in the hallway or not. I decided not to, so I can throw runners down and switch when I get bored, take them away in the warmer weather etc.

I am GLAD I did not put a runner throughout the hallway. Now that I have pets, the carpet doesnt hold up too well with them (gets doggie smelling) and they have had accidents on the hallway runner so that wouldnt have been so good.

I say stairs only, throw runner in hallway.
