BM Paint

OK, everyone, I have a couple of questions about BM paint. We haven't gone shopping yet, but our closing is next Thursday. About how much does BM paint go for? Where have you bought it from? And what is the differenc between their Flat, Matte & Eggshell paints? Chat Icon Thanks for helping out! Chat Icon

Re: BM Paint

We usually get eggshell b/c it's easier to wipe down the walls - it's about $42 a gallon.

Hmmm...it's been a good 6 months since we bought paint but I don't remember it being that much. I want to say it was about $10 less.

We get ours at the local Aboff's. We've gotten a lot of good advice from the people in there.

I've gotten their pearl finish and their matte/eggshell. I wouldn't do pearl again - I prefer the matte finish. The color looks true/rich, imo.

ETA: here is a description of the Regal line and the differences between the finishes

Re: BM Paint

I just got a gallon this past weekend. Eggshell, I believe, is more expensive then matte. I got it at the BM store. Ace in Bellmore may be a little cheaper.

The gallon of Super White that I got for trim work was $33 there.

Re: BM Paint

I used Flat and it's about $30ish a gallon. I bought some at Aboff's and the painter bought the rest.

Re: BM Paint

we used BM Aura paint. It is pricey at 54.99 gal but it cover in 1 coat and I loved using it. I was nervous b/c people said it was hard to work with and i stink at painting..but i did the bedroom and it is awesome. I have leftover paint so I am going to do a back bedroom with it. Aura can be any BM color and any sheen and all sheen are WASHABLE! Love it

I got Matte looks fantastic. I will take a pic later and post it for you

Just to let you know, Ace Hardware has a preferred customer club and you get coupons based on the amount the you spend. I mention this because we have one right by us and bought all of our paint there for our house and we get coupons all the time. FYI

Re: BM Paint

Depending on where you are painting you can see more imperfections in the wall with certain paints but my DH only likes the matte... My Dad works at the Aboffs in Huntington go there and tell him Kim sent you!Chat Icon

We paid about $27 per gallon for eggshell at Willis Paint in Roslyn. We got coupons in different fliers all the time for $3.00 off.
