Lupron- Any comments?

My DD may have to take Lupron for precocious puberty. Does anyone have any feed back on this. Feel free to FM me if you want. I had posted this on the parenting board as well.

I was on lupron last year because of endo- i was very apprehensive taking it since I read alot of scary stuff. I must say the only side effect I had was definatley some mild hot flashes. As soon as I stopped my af came back normal.

Is she taking it to bring on puberty? This stops the entire cycle?

No she would take it to stop her cycle. She is ENTIRELY too young to have to deal with remembering what we have to go through every month. She can wait atleast another year or two.

I have taken Luron last year as well. It definately brings on hot flashes. Other than that I was fine. Once off your cycle returns..

I think they recommend only being on this for 6 months or so. I don't know if this is the best option to deter for a couple of years. Did the dr. suggest anything else.

Yes, some type of capsule that would go under the skin. It gives out the meds for a year. I dont like that one because it means that she will have to go under anesthesia. I am going to see another endoc Dr. and talk with her pediatrician.
