Lupron- Any comments?

My DD may have to take Lupron for precocious puberty. Does anyone have any feed back on this. Feel free to FM me if you want.

Hi, When I saw your title, I thought you were asking about taking the drug for your self, then I saw that it was for your DD.
I am in the Pharmaceutical Business. I have seen this drug be prescribed for men (I believe for testicular cancer) and for woman for endometriosis. I have never sold this particular drug myself, so I definately don't have all the facts.

If it was my DD, I would get a 2nd and possibly a 3rd opinion on this subject. I would Google Lupron as well as Prec. Puberty.

A good wesite to check out is www.askapatient.com. You can put in any drug name and get a users opinion regarding side effects,efficacy,etc.

I believe that you do have an option of not treating this with medication, but that is a really peronal decision.

Meet with an endocronologist, maybe even ask your own Gyno's opinion. Maybe even speak to a Psychologist on how this can effect a child, and how best to handle it.

Thank you Tara. I plan on discussing this with her pediatrician and getting a second opinion. I saw a message board and it did have alot of adults sounding off about the drug, unfortuantly it didnt have any parents with respect to their children. Thanks again
