Ceramic Glass Top Smooth stoves

If you own one, what type of pots do you use? My stove is a few weeks old and already has scratches on it....GRRRRRR!!! I know they have to be flat, but what type - steel, aluminum, etc. and the brand if you can remember. TIA.

I have KitchenAid stainless steel and I love them. But the bigger problem is things overflowing and getting stuck on the glass! It is IMPOSSIBLE to clean! Between that and my glass shower doors I am ready to scream!

When cleaning, do you use the Ceramic Glass Top cleaner?? I use it & everything comes up. If something is stuck, you put the cleaner on & then use a straight edged razor to scrape the residue up! Works like a charm!

I have the special cleaner, but when I clean with the razor I wind up scraping the glass!

You shouldnt be scraping the glass....a razor will not cut the glass. Maybe you are just cutting into the dirt...and are thinking you are cutting the glass.

I use the Ceramic glass top cleaner...with the scratchy part of a sponge....that I use to get the dirt off...then I rinse the stove top with a damp sponge....then dry it off with a towel, and for a final polish I use some windex and paper towels.

The scratch didn't come from cleaning. I got the stove right before Easter. I hosted and I had 2 helpers at one point. I have no idea who did the scratch, but I'm guessing it was from someone dragging a pot across the top. I knew not to do this, but I forgot to instruct my helpers. This is the reason I want new pots.

Re: Ceramic Glass Top Smooth stoves

I think you can scratch the ceramic surface by dragging pots and pans across the top - I saw DH do this the other day and freakedChat Icon

For the tough baked on stains I use a razor - I was afraid I'd cut the glass but I haven't. Between that and the special sponges I found in the supermarket (forget the brand but they are red and really scratchy - kinda like brillo pads) they do the trick.
