try using Nailtiques Formula #2 on your natural nails. I swear by this stuff!
IMAGE Product Description Nailtiques #2 helps harden nails allowing for longer fingernails. Apply a single coat of Nailtiques #2. Reapply daily over existing coats of nail protein until your nails improve and become stronger. Remove weekly or as needed with non-acetone nail polish. ITA. I use this still and it makes my nails very durable & they have a great shape.

Re: My nails stink
I suggest the Perm French also.
I always had silk wraps back in high school & college. But they broke easily.
I tried Perm French for my wedding and kept them for several months.
I loved how durable they were. They never broke or chipped, always looked shiny. I could wash the dishes, do laundry, clean the bathroom, and they still looked good.
When I was getting them done, I didn't have very long tips and always asked them to mak the white thin. When the tips are too long, it reminds me of Carmela Soprano!
Here's a pic I took the morning of my wedding when I was steaming my veil (hanging in the shower).

Re: My nails stink
I love the Nailtiques #2 Plus formula. It came in kit with their oil therapy and cuticle gel. All of it has really helped my nails.

Re: My nails stink
Acrylic permanent french......IMO, the silk wraps break too easily.....I've had acrylic for YEARS and I think I've broken a nail only once in all that time....

Re: My nails stink
I agree with all the girls about the UV Gel....they are the best, I can usually go 3-4 weeks. I have had silk wraps in the past and the UV gel is much better.

Re: My nails stink
Here's my opinion...
I used to bite my nails... then I stopped and my nails were a wreck. Always splitting, breaking.. and so thin that they would literally bend from being so soft. Then I tried fakes. Tried silk wraps, gel, extensions, you name it and it only made my nails worse. The upkeep in my opinion is a pain in the a$$, and when you eventually want to take them off, your nails are in worse shape. ALso, if you happen to miss an appointment cause you are busy or what not, they end up looking like crap imo.
I started getting manicures every week and stopped touching my nails myself. This eventually made my nails stronger and more durable. I now get compliments on my nails all the time. They are strong and grow like weeds!
A lot of the girls above suggested a strengthening polish. Try that. Give it a month or so. Bring the bottle into your local nail place and get weekly manicures using it. If you don't see a difference, try the wraps/fakes/gels what have you.
