My nails stink
suggest a fake type of nail that looks nice?
i have thin brittle nails and very short short nail beds. i know fake nails stin, because i had them in the past, but maybe you can suggest a product that you liked.
i see clients almost every day and to be honest im embarrassed to pick up a glass at lunch b.c my nails are so hideous

Re: My nails stink
My nail tech does gel and it lasts me about 3-4 weeks. I'm not sure of the specific brand she uses (I go to an American woman) but it's so durable and she does a great pink/white French manicure.
I get the same thing on my toes!

Re: My nails stink
I say Perm French is the look to go with Mel. I dont care for the gel type, JMO. The gel holds up well cause its durable but it was like they had to get chiseled (sp?) to get off and very painful!!! I think you are safe with wraps.

Re: My nails stink
try using Nailtiques Formula #2 on your natural nails. I swear by this stuff!
Product Description Nailtiques #2 helps harden nails allowing for longer fingernails. Apply a single coat of Nailtiques #2. Reapply daily over existing coats of nail protein until your nails improve and become stronger. Remove weekly or as needed with non-acetone nail polish.

Re: My nails stink
nailtek really strenthens nails and i had a client whose nails would not grow for anything until she used this stuff
but if you have already given up on natural nails - uv gel nails (you can do a permanent french with them and not even use polish!) are really nice and they are hypoallergenic so they do not smell
good luck

Re: My nails stink
dumb question, but have you gotten regular manicures (once a week) for a few months? that helps mine stay nice and strong and pretty

Re: My nails stink
I've had both acrylic and silk wraps (im a nail biter so I have to do something to them - they are disgusting) and I found that silk wraps look much more natural!!

Re: My nails stink
I get acrylic tips and have them cut down super short. They're by far the best I've ever done.
I've tried silk and gel UV nails...didn't work as well for me and kept breaking.

this helps a lot and also try using a nail hardener everyday, just one coat a day helped a lot.

Re: My nails stink
Permanent French - pink and white. It always looks so neat, clean, and professional. Even as it grows out it is a lot less noticable than acrylics with regular polish.

Yep I agree. I had acrylic on for years. I also had the worst nails ever, thin as paper no matter what I did, dry and brittle. This stuff saved my nails.

Re: My nails stink
I have the same problem (small nail beds, brittle nails that often bend and/or break). I tried the gel nails for the wedding and didn't like them at all (maybe just the place I went to, but they were too thick and looked really fake on me). I think a manicure once a week and bring nailteeks and have them put it on is a good idea.

Re: My nails stink
I have permanent french acrylic wraps. I keep them short. Silk does look more natural, but these require a lot less maintenance and they are so durable. I have not done well with silk wraps.

Re: My nails stink
I have very thin brittle nails also....and I pick them so I don't make it better. The best for me was gel manicures. I would get a perm french.

I agree too! I never thought I'd have my own nails. And I do and they are strong. I am hard on my hands too and still they barely break anymore.

Re: My nails stink
I get acrylic because my nails are gross also. It just puts a harder coat on top of your nail. I can go 3-4 weeks w/out getting my nails done. It's great!
