Just Wanted to Introduce Myself
I've lurked on this board for a few weeks now and thought I should finally introduce myself!
My DH and I got married this past September and now have recently decided to come off BC (it's been about a month, so I know it's early) and let nature take it's course! I'm so excited at the notion of us being parents, though at the same time blown away at the thought.
I do have a quick question...I was on the depo provera shot, so I didn't get a period. Have any of you been on it and come off to TTC? Did your doctor say it would take any longer than other BC? I know I must sound like an idiot, but at least with the BCP you do get a period. I haven't had one in 2 years so now I'm a little worried my system may have a hard time. 
Anyway, I just wanted to say a quick hello and I'm passing all the  I possibly can your way!

I was on the shot for a couple of years, but I went right back to my normal cycle as soon as I came off of it - There have been a number of girls who did not get their period for quite some time

Welcome.....I had a friend who came off the shot and it took her 13 months to get AF back. I hope that doesnt happen to you, and I dont want to scare you, but I wanted you to be prepared that it can take awhile for some people.

Jennie....I don't know for sure about coming off the depo...ask your dr. and see what s/he says! That's the best advice I can give.

Thanks a bunch for the warm welcome!
To those who shared their knowlege of "the shot" and coming off, thank you, I really appreciate it. I have a dr's appointment April 12th so I will be sure to ask her pleanty of questions when I go. I'm certainly hoping it's not going to take 13 months for AF to visit!

I was on continuous birth control pills. I didn't take the week off and didn't get a period. My doctor did not seem to think that would cause any issues with TTC. I am now pregnant (just hitting 9 weeks). It did take a while but I have reason to believe that the delay was due to other factors and not the fact that I did not have a period for a long time.
I hope you will stay tuned for when I reveal my identity b/c I know you from LIW!!!!
