It is the injection of progestin into a male to stop the production of testosterone (sp?) which cause a decrease in sexual urges and drives

I say a definite YES!
No because I truly believe that not every rapist is guilty (even though they are found guilty). So not every rapist should suffer this fate.
I am sure there is a small percentage (maybe 10%) of men who actually had consentual sex... but the woman turned the whole story around cause maybe he slept around with other women. And the jury believed her.
Granted a small percentage... but I betcha there are some people.

true...but this isn't likely to happen to a repeat offender

Yeah but the question wasn't if repeate offenders should be castrated.
It said should convicted ones be.

OK ....so then i am for chopping the pee pee's off as well as hands and arms 
ETA...after wondering about this point i did look into it on some sites and it says that it certainly does decrease the sexual urges and drives...
BUT like i said...ultimately that isn't what sex crimes is about...so doing this particular punishment wouldnt' be all that effective

I think a convicted rapist, one with DNA proof, repeat offenders and physical harm should suffer the same as the person they raped, only it should be done with machines, very BIG machines KWIM? An eye for an eye.

i think that sex offenders and their acts are less to do with the urges to have sex as opposed to control and anger
You are absolutely right! This is what I have read in my classes in College.
HOwever, I do see how some victims may want them castrated.
