Since I wasn't sure when I was ovulating I didn't want to spend a lot of money on OPKs. Then someone told me about the saliva test to check for ovulation. It is reusable and it worked for us!!!! FM me if you have any questions on this test.

Your cycles are somewhat long. Do you know what CD you ovulate? 2nd-temping will really only help you after you have done it for a few months-if you want to temp and chart I would buy Taking charge of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler-great book.
The way I have been able to determine when I o is based on cervical fluid and opk's. In TCOYF she says that your OPK positive will usually follow the day of your most abundant and stretchy fluid-then you will most likely O the day after that-so for instance-this month I started to get egg white stretchy fluid on CD 14-I got more on CD 15 Cd 16 I got a surge line on my OPK and I O'd on CD 17-I was being monitored by ultrasound and blood work this cycle so I knew this was all right..HTH

I have a saliva monitor available if you are interested. $25-I use this also on occasion(not the one I am talking about-that is brand new in the box!)

I don't know when I ovulate...I am currently reading TCOYF....the only thing I have been doing is bding during the predicted fertile time based on my cycle for the last 10 months and the last 4 months (I'm doing both because when I came off the pills my period was pretty regular 28-30 days but then it got later and the last 4 months has been 41 days.

I was never on the pill but I have read it can take 6 months-1 yr to get back to normal....That being said-if your cycles are that long the internet calculators may not work for you. Do you notice EWCM? this is the most accurate indicator fo O approaching for me. Usually we will BD thee 1st day we see that and 3-4 days after and I have gotten PG pretty reliably with that. I deal with recurrent m/c so no baby yet but...this does work for me.

I get CM but not EWCM all the time....

You may not see EWCM unless you go #2. Sometimes it is way up near your cervix and you kind of have to push ut down
You can increase EWCM by eating baby carrots, drinking lots of water and green tea and even taking robitussin(you can look this up online.) Its improtant to have this because it is what keeps sperm alive until you O.

I used the clear blue easy fertility monitor. expensive, but it worked!

i used Clearblue Easy OPK, buy 2 packs so you don't run out and start using them on CD10 use them in the late afternoon but hold your urine for at 4 hours so it doesn't dilute the result
