Re: For those of you with belly button piercings....
I took mine out around 7-8 months and replaced it with a pregnancy piercing.
I wouldn't bother with the pregnancy piercing. My skin got so taut in that area that the piercing was almost being pushed out through the skin it was lying under. It irritated the area and caused it to inflame so I had to take it out less than 2 weeks after putting it in. At 6 weeks PP, I think my belly button looks worse now because I tried to keep the hole.

Re: For those of you with belly button piercings....
I took it out 2 weeks before my due date. It got really red towards the end, so this time I am going to take it out like 6 weeks before.

I meant to add that I took mine out b/c I had a friend who's got "pushed" out and now has an ugly mark around her belly button. Mine is closed up, but I think I'm getting it redone. After my daughter, I pushed a ring thru and got a nasty infection.
When I went for my ultrascreen, the tech warned me about this. She said that she had seen this happen to a lot of women and if it pops out, it could leave a scar. I took mine out at 16 weeks so that I wouldn't chance it.

Re: For those of you with belly button piercings....
I took mine out at 30 weeks. It didnt close the next 10 weeks and now its back in with no problems. I did buy one of those pregnancy belly rings - its a soft plastic ,kinda ugly but its stretches and bends with your growing belly - that worked fine. DD is 8 mths now and it looks fine in, pretty much the same it did before. HTH!
