Not really because every name I have liked over the years has suddenly popped up on the most popular kids names. Especially girls. I always loved Emma, Isabella and Ava but don't want my child to be one of three Emma's or Isabella's. So, back to the drawing board.

We have some ideas of names, but don't share them with family because on the one or two occasions we have casually mentioned somethings we have gotten remarks like "oh really?" or "you know what name I like? The name_______". So, now we just say nothing and plan on sharing the names after the baby is born. Much les of a chance for comments then!
I think not sharing is a good idea. Everybody is so subjective with names...
And the closer you are to them, the more they feel entitled to give you their opinion.
I think all names are great, although I do raise my eyebrows when it comes to
names like Dweezil, Zappa or common names with very unique spellings that make them almost impossible to try to spell.
ie. Lyessah = Lisa

we have a girl's name we are zeroing in on. Just for fun though, my DH doesn't take it seriously just agrees to amuse me.
