C-SECTION QUESTION

I had a C-section 2 weeks ago and it still hurts really bad! They promised me that when the staples came out it would feel so much better...well it didnt. Anyhow tonight I looked and the area where the dissolvable stitches are is puffed up...not red but uplifted. Could that be a sign of an infection or does that go down within time?

Re: C-SECTION QUESTION

Thanks! I do have vicodin BUT I dont like to use meds especially with the baby here with me all day long. I used it the first week though. My biggest concern is the puffiness. I am unsure if the pufiness is an infection or if it is normal.

I dont think I looked at it much at that point, so I give you credit for that.

Re: C-SECTION QUESTION

I am not sure about the puffiness - if you are concerned definitely asked your doctor.

I was in pain for a long time after - well it seemed like a LONG time - I remember after my staples came out I was still in pain - HORRIBLE pain that made my legs feel like lead and I couldn't even get dressed... But then before you know it, you wake up "okay" one day and it gets better and better.

2 weeks is still so new! Give yourself time - you'll bounce back soon! Chat Icon

Re: C-SECTION QUESTION

I remember mine being puffy. It should go down but it takes time. If it makes you feel better - you should call the Dr.

Hope you feel better. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: C-SECTION QUESTION

Well the day my staples were taken out, part of the incision (the outside layer only) came apart and I was "leaking" LOL. It wasn't funny at the time but I knew it wasn't life threatening either. We had to rush back to the dr's office that same day (poor DH was freaking out) and they put 3 small stiches in me and I had to clean it 3x a day w/ peroxide. I don't recall puffiness but maybe there was. I would call your OB just to make sure it's ok.Chat Icon

I know what you mean about the puffiness and mine did that too. 6 wks PP and the puffiness has gone away - as for the pain, I would ask your dr. b/c I'm not sure if that is normal.

Re: C-SECTION QUESTION

After my staples were taken out the Dr put steri-strips over the incision and I couldn't see the incision. I had those on for 2 or 3 weeks, I can't remember.

Re: C-SECTION QUESTION

Mine incision is pretty uncomfy - but I am only 9 days PP. I get my staples out today and I am excited yet scared. I am still relying on the Vicotin which I am not happy about because I don't like relying on meds.
Are you overly active which might be halting your recovery?
