When do the little ones start seeing a dentist?
I'm wondering. My twins will be two in May and while they still don't have many of their back teeth, they have enough to where we try and have them brush each night (TRY! LOL). But i noticed on both of my girls on the SAME exact bottom tooth, they have what looks like plaque! It's so strange! I tried seeing if it could scrape off but it feels hard. Could that be??

Honestly, I didn't take her until 5. I felt it was a waste before like 4...then I just got lazy.
She went at 5 and all was well....
In your case- if you are seeing something like plaque- I'd take them just to see what it's about.
It could be just a mark on the tooth from taking antibiotics- did they have a lot of antibiotics as babies?

DS started seeing the dentist right after he turned 4. He didn't want them to do anything, so they basically just brushed his teeth and put on flouride. It's more of getting him comfortable right now.
DD bumped her tooth and it bled for hours, so we took her around 19 months. The dentist said to come back when she was closer to 3 for an exam. If I think she's ready, she'll go then or closer to 4.
In your case, if you are questioning something, it can't hurt to bring them.

We started a little after 3 with each kid. We don't take them to a pediatric dentist - they go to our regular dentist so DCs and I have our appointments back to back to back on the same day.

My twins were 5 when they started going and my youngest was 3. I only took him because the twins were going so I figured get it all done. I heard you were supposed to start at 2 but really just to get them used to the dentist. We take ours to our regular dentist. If you have a concern it wouldn't hurt to take them now.

My ped just told me 2.5.
That said, I took dd1 around 1.5 bc she chipped a tooth. The dentist said they like to see them starting at 1! We brought her back for a check up and it was kind of a waste at that age.

Oh wow! I guess everyone goes at different ages for different reasons. I thought I read that they should start at 2 so I think I'll wait til they are two and take them. It's only 2 more months.
I def. think I need to start with a pediatric dentist. I'm already envisioning how this is going to go. LOL.

They have only been on antibiotics once and it was last month for about a week.

Please. At 1 DD didn't even have teeth. Not one tooth until like 13-14 months. They would have looked at her gums and billed my insurance a pretty penny.
