Is there a cut off age for flower girls

I had a 9 year old as my flower girl and looking back I should have made her a Jr. Bridesmaid. Too late now!!

talking out my ass because I have no idea. I would think age 5 would be the cut off, if there really is an age cut off.

really, its what ever makes your sister happy

Re: Is there a cut off age for flower girls

2 of my older nieces were flower girls at age 6 and 7 in my wedding. When my sister got married 7 months after me she had them as jr bridesmaids. I personally was trying to be cost effective for the parents, flower girl dresses were $50 and bridesmaid dresses were $150 or $200.

Is there a cut off age for flower girls

I was almost 9 and my sister almost 10 when we were flower girls. I don't know if there is a cut off. It was also our aunt getting married, so the generation gap I feel makes it more acceptable for an "older" flower girl.

No joke, I went to a wedding recently and the flower "girl" was 89 years old. So. I'd say no cut off and it's up to the bride and family!

I would say 8 is the oldest. I was a junior bridesmaid at 9, and my junior bridesmaid was 10. My flower girl was 6.

I think it depends upon the needs of the family. Ideally I would say 4-8 is flower girl. 9-15 jr bridesmaid. 16+ Bridesmaid

Agreed. I was a junior bridesmaid at 10 for what it's worth. (Granted, this was a million years ago Chat Icon )

My cousins were 7 and 9 when they were in my wedding. They were officially called flower girls but were kind of a hybrid between a flower girl and a junior bridesmaid. They wore the same color as the other bridesmaids, had kissing balls instead of bouquets, walked up the aisle together....

Re: Is there a cut off age for flower girls

My niece was 9 when I got married. She did not want to be called junior anything, so flower girl was certainly out of the question. I let her take whatever title & duties she wanted & she picked her dress. It was supposed to be a fun day for her also. I just wish I could go back and not let the florist convince me to get her a communion size bouquet. The florist said she'd look ridiculous with the same size bouquet as the girls and then she didn't make the girls bouquets very big anyway.

Re: Is there a cut off age for flower girls

So I just got married in June. My FG from my previous wedding is 9. She was 3 During the first. We didn't have a bridal party, fg for this wedding. 9 yr old wore a gorgeous white dress and I totally would've had her as a FG and she would've been so happy. Before we got engaged she said "can you marry uncle Paul so I can be a flower girl again?"

There is no age limit. Just ask her what she prefers.
