IDK, I think I'm reading it differently. I don't see anything wrong with what he said. He said his sister wouldn't allow herself to be subjected to it meaning she wouldn't put up with it. They are a family of means and she could just quit and it wouldn't make a difference to her. I don't see them saying all women should do the same or if it happens it means the woman invited it.

I'm not a Trump (or Clinton) supporter but this is just another article meant to distract readers and offers no real substance to the issues at hand. There are plenty of other ways we can tear Trump apart without having to take what he said out of context lol.

I think its pretty fair to say that he thinks that this would not happen to his sister in the business world because she is a strong woman. Therefore ( and this is not a huge stretch) any woman who does "allow" it to happen ..well......


There are his words:

"Hey, listen, we all run a company, my father runs a company, we take this — that is an absolute no-go anywhere, and that’s very much the case," Eric Trump said. "I think what he’s saying is, Ivanka is a strong, powerful woman, she wouldn’t allow herself to be objected [sic] to it, and by the way, you should take it up with Human Resources, and I think she would, as a strong person; at the same time, I don’t think she would allow herself to be subjected to that. I think that’s a point he was making, and I think he did so well."

To me it reads differently. I think its a slap in the face to thousands of women who have experienced this in the workplace and for one reason or another were not in a position to take the perp down.

I dont like his choice of the word "allow". To me that sounds like hes blaming the victim. Almost as if shes open to it.
Wish he just wouldve said, she wouldnt put up with it. And if a woman cant just quit her job does that mean shes allowing it? No. She can stlll be a strong woman, but needs her job.

My read on Donald Trump's response is the woman shouldn't even bother to fight it. Accept the harassment and find another job. Real nice. What a way to support women.

My take on Eric Trump's response is that if you're not a strong woman than you invite the harassment and it's' your fault. But don't forget to go to HR about it.

As someone who has been sexually harassed in the workplace, I'd like to kick this db in the nuts.

I'm not particularly offended by what he said, because Eric Trump is irrelevant to me as far as humans go, but it is clear that he's completely detached and clueless. I didn't "allow" my boss to slap my ass or to kiss me at a holiday party.. but he did it anyway. I could have quit my job on the spot, but then I wouldn't have been able to eat.

I wish he would've used "put up with" instead of "allow".. the expanded quote mentions HR so I'm assuming he means that she would've just let the person get away with it? Another foot in mouth moment for the Trumps. LOL.

Who cares what his son says. He isn't running for office on the other hand Donald Trump is. Trump is out of touch with reality. Now its the victims place to change jobs when being sexually harassed? Not everyone has the wealth that Ivanka has and would have the ability to just quit their job. This is just absurd. This just shows he lives in a bubble somewhere. All women should be frightened that the potential President would speak this way about sexual; harassment. Last time I checked it was 2016 right?

These guys are jackasses and there are enough ****** things they say without us having to misinterpret what they meant.

He was asked specifically about a statement Donald made. They aren't saying women are to blame for it or that we, as women, invite it. This family just doesn't know how to speak in a distinct & diplomatic manner. Probably because they haven't been in politics their entire lives. From what I've read, that's what people like about them and the more we give articles like this attention, the more fans these idiots gain.

I do think he's an idiot (someone with his expensive education should know not to use using "object" instead of "subject") and I do think if it was anyone else I don't think we'd be interpreting his comment that way.

That said, I do think it shows more than anything else his lack of understanding of what it's like to be a regular person. Most women would not have the luxury of just walking away, or changing careers as his father suggested.

As someone who was sexually harassed in he workplace by having a man grab my boobs after I got up from a large meeting, I took the statement to say go to HR and report bad behavior. I did. My boss did. The guy got fired.

There is a difference between allowing and reacting to sexual harassment. Going to HR or leaving a job is not allowing or not allowing. It ALREADY happened. So saying that is sister is a strong woman and would not let it happen implies she could stop it before it could happen and that is idiotic. But she also worked for her dad so how does that apply to the rest of the female population? This family is clueless. They have never been not rich. To put judgement on people who depends on their job to feed their family or pay a mortgage shows how out of touch this family is. Furthermore, his sister's own dad has made quite a few lewd comments about his own DD so she is not as strong as it is implied after all.
