We always go up to Lake George for 4th of July. It's our only "real" vacation (if you can even call it that) each year. We're heading up on June 30th and coming back on July 6th. I'm looking forward to floating around in a tube on the lake with an iced tea in hand.

Us too! Doing cruise and we get off the boat on July 4th and spending a couple nights at Disney. It's going to be HOT!

We have very close friends in Virginia that host the 4th every year - our whole group of friends goes down to crash with them for the long weekend - best part is that we ALL have boys. There are about 11 little boys between 2-10 years old - it's awesome and something we look forward to every year.

Exactly - it started so small.....20 people. I keep telling DH I don't want to do it any more, and he keeps inviting more and more people!

We do a party every summer (not usually on the 4th) that is up to 120. When I didn't know a majority people on the guest list or in my yard I put my foot down. Worst was some people didn't even know who I was and asked if I was with the caterer since I kept going in and out of the house!! That person was never invited back!

Wow that's a lot! I think it is hard to get out of it though once you start- My sister's mother in law throws a huge July 4th party each year and she doesn't want to do it anymore but now it's come to the point where people just expect it.

OMG that is more people than was at my wedding.
I can't imagine the cost of something like that in food and booze.
And I'd have a rash with people I don't even know going in and out of my house.

We were in Aruba a few years ago for 4th of July weekend and the weather was amazing!!! So jealous!!
We are hoping to close on our new house the week after so I will be doing lots of packing and hoping to take advantage of July 4th deals for furniture and a car lease.
