Weekend plans!
what are you all doing for the holiday weekend?
There is a possibility of rain this weekend, i have a 2 year old boy and trying to think of places to go sunday afternoon
Aquarium closes at 5- i cant get out there before 1 so not sure if waste of time
White post farm is a def is no rain
any other ideas?

Weekend plans!
Planning on the Jones Beach airshow for Sat (I've never been and always wanted to go so I hope the weather holds out)
Having a few friends over on Sunday - but we have a big overhang over our back patio, so we can still be outside if it's warm, even if it rains

Ramones exhibit at the Queens Museum.
Nothing else as of yet. Grill and chill in the yard, hopefully not much else.

Don't go by any forecast that is almost a week out.
They can't predict with any accuracy more than 2-3 days ahead
Having said that- I have no plans yet.
It's been too cold to do beach or pool
Kinda depressing

Not to hijack but I wanted to say thank you  my dad is interred at Calverton. I appreciate that others care enough to do this.
DH & I placed flags at gravesites in Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn last year, before their Civil War memorial event and it was quite an undertaking (we had maps which were supposed to mark all of the Civil War era gravesites but good luck finding the actual locations - we did our best).

We're going with the Boy Scouts. There are forms that get submitted to get a site assigned. There are thousands of Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Motorcycle clubs, school clubs, etc.
I don't see why you wouldn't be able to go on your own and find a random (or not so random, if you know of someone there) area and help out. The flags start getting displayed at 9:30 (and not a minute earlier!) It's usually all done by 10:30, sometimes earlier depending on the site and who is there helping out. Traffic is crazy, so definitely get there early.
