mom's old school. "That's not what FB is for"
My mother has been on FB for about a year now. She had been adamantly opposed to it for so long, blaming it for basically the fall of modern civilization. So when she joined I fell off my rocker.
Had a discussion today about some posts by family members, one of which is barely getting by and has a history of substance abuse. She sometimes posts she has no money or she's hungry (she is not destitute and is in a stable situation but does not have a lot of money).This upsets my mother who said to me "That's not what FB is for!" I laughed to myself thinking well what is FB really for anyway. But mom is one of those people who thinks their way is the only way.
Mom uses it to repost recipes, memes and animal videos. Guess that's what FB is for

My mom never posts, just on to see our pictures andn make sure dad doesn't post anything embarrassing.

mom's old school.
My mom apparently thinks it's just to see photos of her grand babies and post religious and political stuff. I can close to hiding her bc it's out of control but I ended up blocking most of the sites she shares from so now it's more manageable.

My dad passed but if he were on fb it would be a nightmare. No filter!

Facebook was originally started for people to find other people and keep in touch. Now it is a hot mess with people posting non stop, everyday pictures and videos of themselves and their kids and checking in every place they go, even their couch. Some of it is just ridiculous.
