can you find out who lives where?.... longer than expected
being that i was "stalked" via FB recently, i feel like a hypocrite asking this... but i am a human being and i am flawed.
mea culpa, mea culpa, mea culpa
ok... so...
i work for a specialty plumbing company in orange county california. we get a lot of referrals... no big deal. many times, the referrals are from a handy man who realizes the work needed is above his skill set. again, no big deal.
i just got a call from a handy man, who has referred work to us before.
he didn't want to give me the homeowner's name or address. i politely said that i can't send a tech if i don't know where i'm sending him. the handy man kept going on and on about how the customer is "high profile" and he can't give me info.
so, i agreed to use the handy man's name in the system FOR NOW, because the homeowner will eventually have to sign the service contract. the handy man very reluctantly gave me the street address.
so, i've googled the address... mostly because he didn't give me a zip code and to confirm the address is legit.
but now i'm CURIOUS as to who on earth lives in this house.
let me tell you, we have serviced some monster mansions in "the OC," but this is an "average house." 4 bedrooms, 3 baths. hell, i've lived in a house that size... sans the pool.
so... is there a way for nosy me to find out who lives at a specific address??

Tax rolls are public records. I am sure a quick google search might yield something.

A high profile person that values their anonymity will likely have a social media reputation consultant on retainer that does online reputation checks, eliminating any public mentions you can "google".
The tax record will probably also be shielded by an LLC of some sort, that technically owns the house.
That's assuming the person is as high up as the handyman claims.

when i first googled the address, i thought of that. if it's someone with serious money, they would probably not own their own home.
and then, work got in the way. i'm no longer curious. we'll do the work, get paid, and move on.
but if i find out who is so high profile that no one can find out they have a leak in a pipe, i just might share

Yes there are ways.. No its never really worth it. Its fun for a bit but its old. I've had plenty of high profile accounts and clients. I begin to feel bad for them. The effort it takes. Some even have to go to that level for family members as well.
Bottom line. Follow the money. Everything that is owned is traceable. For us, Assets are always covered somehow, someway. Be it within a company, LLC or joint venture or trust. There's always a record.
Personal favorite (and even tho I can now legally provide the names of my old clients as I'm way past my non disclosures / Non competes I still won't) was the one who took a name and a revocable trust and combined into alpha abbreviation name that was a mouthful. You had better know who you were calling if you called them up. Easiest fail safe to see if you were calling on legit business! LOL
