To this day, my 6.5 year old thinks that the candy and stuff at the registers in stores are only for the people that work there. We had told him this from an early age to prevent begging while we're checking out.

I used to tell my daughter that the ice cream truck was the music truck. It just drove around so people could hear fun music. It worked until she was about 5 years old. Lol

My parents used this one on me for a long time. Didn't work though- I still don't eat red meat to this day!

Dd is on to us though... "Mommy why does the music man have pictures of ice cream"
