How soon to tell parents?
I said I was going to wait to tell my family...but keeping this secret is killing me. I am going to see them this weekend and also next weekend for family parties....DH says I should tell, I say I should wait until after my first OB appt which is not until Monday, Feb 27 and after all the parties.
What do you think...should I tell them or wait?

i always say family is family you want them there in good and bad. telling your family is different then telling friends and co workers. If god forbid something were to happen would you be able to keep it from your family? I would want them there so I see no reason to keep the wonderful news from them. God luck and a happy and healthy 9 months.

My problem is that my dad won't be there, he will be working. I feel bad telling my mom without my dad there....so I wanted to wait until I see them together, but not sure if I can. Oh goodness....I wanted this for so long, and now it's stressing me out LOL

we told our mom and dad pretty much right away, we didn't tell extended family and friends until after 12 weeks.
Our parents were going nuts keeping that secret!! I thought they were going to burst!

I told my parents, grandma and siblings at 7 weeks using the same logic as above. Most other people I waited until 2nd trimester or at least after my first dr visit which was at 9 weeks.

can you get your Dad on the phone when you tell everyone? Or can you call him a minute before and tell him and then tell everyone else?

I would say, tell them. I went through the same thing as you - didn't want to really tell anyone becasue I didn't want to "jinx" my pregnancy. However, DH said to me, "If something were to happen, aren't you going to need these people to help you through it anyway?"

We told our parents right away. They are the people i would go to if god forbid something happenend so they should know.

We also told our immediate family right away. I knew that no matter what happened, I needed their support. However, I didn't tell anyone else, not even my best friend, until the first sonogram at 11 weeks.
