BIL iwedding party question?

If your husband only has one sibling (brother) and they have a large wedding party (say they ask 7 ladies, 6 guys, 5 kids). Would you expect to be asked in the wedding if you have known him 15 years and inlaws s for over 10 of them? To clarify you got along well with bride her and her words... cant wait to be sisters.

BIL iwedding party question?

Nope and wouldn't be offended. Sometimes not everyone can be a part of the wedding. Plus being in a wedding is a huge financial and time commitment. At this point in my life id rather just be a guest

Re: BIL iwedding party question?

No I wouldn't expect to be asked.

From my own personal experience, I picked my friends and family as my bridesmaids and my husband picked his friends and family as groomsmen.

My brother was not included in the bridal party.

Since he's your BIL, no, I wouldn't expect to be asked. If it were your brother I'd feel differently.

Re: BIL iwedding party question?

Nope, not at all.

Nothing in a wedding party should just be expected. Heck even if the bride was your sister it's not guaranteed.

definitely wouldn't expect it- seems a little too far removed. I think it's more customary to be asked if it was your brother that was getting married.

Re: BIL iwedding party question?

The relationship with BIL has no impact on who the bride chooses to have in her bridal party, so it would depend on my relationship with the bride. I def wouldn't expect it but if we hung out together all the time (and not just with our significant others) I might be a little surprised.

BIL iwedding party question?

Nope. I've known my BIL for 14 years and I was not in his wedding party in September. I honestly prefer it. I'm not even in my brother's upcoming wedding.

Yeah, me too. When my sister got married, her husband asked my husband to be in his wedding party. I think it would've been weird if he wasn't!

BIL iwedding party question?

I was in my bil's wedding party. I've known him longer than my dh, and then when they got married they asked me to be in it. my dh was BM and my oldest was flower girl. I'm close with them but I would expect to be. It's family.

ITA
You have been part of the family for a long time now. Do you have a close relationship with your BIL and his fiancé?
I was the Matron of Honor is DH's sister's wedding. WE are close and have been family for years. DH was in the wedding party too.

ETA - if you said it was small like just a MOH then I'd say no, but it's a big wedding party and you will all be family.

Yes this. My BIL (DH's brother) is getting married in June and his fiancee did not ask me to be in the bridal party. I was relieved to be honest.

Re: BIL iwedding party question?

I would be hurt if I wasn't asked, especially if it's a bigger bridal party.
My BIL, DHs twin, is getting married next month. We are all in the wedding. DH is best man, I'm a bridesmaid and my boys are the ring bearers.
