ETA - Go online and you can see what size TV is best for the size room you have as well as the distance from your seating/viewing area to the TV.

I think it really depends on the size of your room and how far you will be sitting from the TV. We have a 65".

just did this- it said 70" which will not happen. 55" it is!

Yes measure your viewing distance first..there are calculators online that will help you determine the best size.
For us we have a 47" in our family room. It's perfect since our FR is more width than length and our viewing distance is about 5 ft or so from TV to sofa.
I know someone who has a HUGE TV in a small living room and honestly every time I go there I feel like I'm sitting in the first row of the movie theatre.

75inch. Its ridiculous. I hate it. Too damn big. My dh had to have it and he even says now it was a mistake. 55 inch is perfect.

32 in bedroom which is an upgrade from our 19 in that we had previously. Dh and I watch movies and shows on our iPads or lap tops.

65" but it doesn't seem that big in my family room because we have vaulted ceilings.
50" in the "man cave"
40" in what I call my Bravo (tv) room aka woman cave.
