Anyone watch Dance Moms on a regular basis?
I just saw last nights episode.
There are rumors...in GENERAL...that some of the competitions are fake. Done SOLEY for the TV show.
After seeing last nights episode I believe it.
I noticed, FIRST THING, that no one, not anyone at all, was "outside" screaming hello etc. when the team walked in. Even the moms commented on it.
Then. Then at the end of the show they have the kids on stage for awards.
There were, maybe, 20 kids on stage. And I'm being generous. This makes me feel they went to an absolutely fake competition.
No one competed except for maybe 2 groups.
Also, its prob why they didn't do the normal "In third place, in second.." Because they were not up against more than 1 other group.
So. It looks like they absolutely stage some of these competitions.

I don't watch it. But I feel that's "reality" tv for you. Which is why I don't watch them

Re: Anyone watch Dance Moms on a regular basis?
I've watched every episode and that's the first time there's ever been so few kids on stage. It was definitely not normal. In any case, I've also heard that the routine you see on TV is not actually the routine they compete. Allegedly they compete and then they do it again later for filming. Nonetheless the show is still entertaining!

I need to catch up! I'm a little behind so I didn't see that episode yet, but I've always thought it was a little strange that during the awards, ALDC kids are always seated in the front of the stage (right next to the podium). If it was a real competition, the placement would be a little more random and not so organized. It def seems more scripted then other reality tv but I still watch.

At this point, they probably can't even go to REAL competitions anymore since everyone knows who they are, and it's probably a mob scene. I have friends in competitive dance who have seen them at competitions when they first started the show. I'm sure it's all fake now

Re: Anyone watch Dance Moms on a regular basis?
I watched in the beginning & caught it yesterday--it does seem very fake & I wonder how fake it was in the beginning.
I read an aticle about hoe Abbie Lee was quitting the show over problems with the producers, and she said, they pick bad songs & stupid themes & she has to make it work.
Umm, the producers are picking the dances?
That's not how dance competitions work.
And now they are in LA & bringing in well known choreographers?
The drama between the moms is all forced too, but that is to be expected. I danced for years & my mom didn't even know the other moms!

I watched in the beginning and fell off. I always thought it was staged because there's so many times that their routine doesn't seem worthy of placing and they always win.
