Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
Catholic Churches do not schedule baptisms on Easter Sunday and usually Palm Sunday, so this is not even an option for you.

Re: Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
No, I would not attend anything on Easter Sunday. It's a holiday, and for those who are very religious..........its a very religious holiday. I don't think the Catholic Church will even do a baptism on Easter Sunday.

Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
I feel like this isn't even a question because A. I can't imagine the church baptizing on Easter and B. there are 364 other days of the year, why on earth would anyone have a baptism on Easter?

My church did one but it was during the scheduled mass.

I remember a baptism being held at my church during either Easter mass or Palm Sunday, I forget which one.
Anyway, for a close family member yes but friend no. I spend Easter with my sister and nieces. If it was a close Family memeber, she would be there so it'd be ok.
Easter Vigil they baptism adults in my parish. Never heard of on the actual day of Easter though nor Palm Sunday.
Nope it wasn't the Easter Vigil, it was during mass last year. I remember because I thought it was odd. It was just one baby though.

Yo, Jesus, I'm really happy for you, I'ma let you resurrect, but my baby is going to have the best baptism of all time! One of the best baptisms of all time!
That's what would pop in my head if I got an invite to a baptism on Easter Sunday.

Re: Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
I would but I am clearly the minority.
We are not really religious though.
For those questioning whether the church would do it - it could be another branch of Christianity. I believe the Orthodox church has Easter on a different day.

Re: Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
I wouldn't attend anything if it fell on the day of our Easter. For Ex -if a catholic friend invited me to their baby's christening on my Easter I wouldn't go
My own religion does not allow baptisms on Easter Sunday or during lent so i wouldn't be in that predicament with anyone who is the same religion as me

Would the Church even let you? My SIL was trying to book her sons baptism and the Church has it blocked off as dates you can't use.
My son was baptised last Easter and looking at the calendar, it seems to be the best date again this year. Last year we didnt do a party after so it was immediate family only but this year we want to do a party... After reading everyones replies, im just going to see what other dates they have open. Unfortunately, they only due baptisms on specific dates.

This was what we did last year for my son... The timing just worked that the date was Easter Sunday but it wasnt something we chose. Our church had lots of babies getting baptised on Easter of last year. I too had never even heard of a church baptising on Easter prior to last year.

Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
I just booked DD's baptism and Easter was one of the dates. When i pointed it out to the priest hew as shocked and said he will have to let them know. I'm not the most religious person but I knew the date and they didn't??
Anways, if I DID do it on a holiday, I would only expect immediate family - those who I normally spend the holiday with - to attend.
Booking a party may be harder to do on a holiday.

Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
I'm not religious, but I still probably wouldn't attend because I consider Easter to be a day to spend with close family.

If it was for a family member that we were already planning on spending Easter with, then yes.
But for other family/friends, no.

Re: Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
I don't think the church would let you hold a baptism on Easter Sunday. But to answer the original question I would probably only go if it were for a family member.

ETA - it reminds me of the Michael Buble's Christmas Duets SNL Spoof where the guy playing Kanye comes out and pushes the baby Jesus manger display out of the way and goes "Jeeeesus I'm so much better than youuuuu" HAHAHA
SICK!!! I found it...... Right around minute 2:40

Would you attend a baptism on Easter?
If it was like a niece or someone I would be spending Easter with anyway then yes, I would. If it was a more removed family member or friend I probably would not attend.

My DH was baptized during the Easter Vigil, but I don't think they would do Easter day. But if they did, no. Its a holiday we spend with our families.
