Ohio defunds Planned Parenthood

Ohio and others moved to defund after discovering aborted fetuses and body parts were being sold. That's their main reason and without having discovered that, I doubt this would have happened.
Still a bad move in my eyes - many rely on their services and health care (other than abortion).

It amazes me that some people get up in arms about others eating chic-fil-a but yet selling human body parts on the black market is more acceptable. Confuses the hell out of me

The footage and claims they are making are wildly untrue. This is just another attack in the Republican war on women's bodies. Men can have Viagra delivered to their door and women will have to jump through hoops, get employer permission! to get birth control. How can anyone think defunding PP is in the best interest of women?! Last election they wanted to overturn Roe V Wade. Flicking assholes. They disgust me.

Yes. Selling or "donating" to research companies. I stopped following the story because it made me sick to my stomach. I hope it isn't true. But I'm sure parts of it are and I'm sure parts are not.
Either way, I don't think defunding isn't a great solution, the women who rely on their services shouldn't suffer and they are the ones who will most.

Ok but if a fetus is to be aborted anyway, is it better to toss it in a waste recepticle or to use it for medical research to try and help save future lives or cure diseases, etc?
I am unsure what is so bad about that?
Abortion is legal in the US and regardless of your stance on abortion the fact is women have abortions every day. Isn't it better to use the aborted fetuses for something that might be helpful?
What am I missing here?

Agree. I* think* if I'm remembering correctly, part of the issue was women may not have been aware of what was happening (I.e., didn't give permission or didn't realize/understand they were) and (this may not be true, but was claimed) because the older the baby, the more developed the organs, the more money they'd make So it was alleged women may have been counseled to wait or scheduled at later dates intentionally.... Again, not proven but it was claimed.....Also, many people are up in arms about how the PP rep (i think a doctor) spoke of the abortions and financial gains...it was not very compassionate or graceful to say the least....I watched one video (a lot of the videos were claimed to be forged too, but who knows) and it was honestly horrible :( I really hope it was false. I don't know too much about it. I watched the one video and couldn't ßtomach it so I blocked it out of mind. This is just some arguments I understand the anti PP people are making. But either way the real losers here are the women who rely on their services....
