Poll - Do you acknowledge your parents anniversary?
No. They don't really acknowledge it either, except to maybe invite us all to dinner, which we do a lot anyway. I'm not sure they even remember the exact day, lol, but I do know it's around Labor Day. Also, they eloped and I've never even seen a picture of their wedding day. But they've been married almost 50 years and are still crazy about each other.

Poll - Do you acknowledge your parents anniversary?
When my parents were still married, nothing more than saying happy anniversary. Now that my dad is remarried, he gets offended if we don't acknowledge it on facebook

Re: Poll - Do you acknowledge your parents anniversary?
No, my parents were divorced when i was 12 and at that age i had zero idea of when it was.
My IL's now.. have no idea when their anniversary is either except they just celebrated their 40th (i think) last year? That's the only reason i know.
To me, anniversaries are special to the couple involved and that's it. I don't expect a card from anyone for my anniversary and honestly don't really remember anyone elses.
A milestone anniversary is great and something to be celebrated when its a big one of course

Re: Poll - Do you acknowledge your parents anniversary?
I say happy anniversary, and that's it. Anniversaries are not a group event in my family. Their anniversary is for them to celebrate, just like my anniversary is for just my husband and me.

Re: Poll - Do you acknowledge your parents anniversary?
My sister and I always did. Cards, flowers, dinner, either out or at home. My parents were married for 39 years when my mom died.

Of course I do. They've been married for 36 years, and these days that is something to celebrate.

My parents just had their 40th wedding anniversary and it was the first time I ever got them a card and my sister and I got them a Precious Moments statue.
I wouldn't have even remembered to do this if wasn't for my mom talking about it constantly and practically asking us for some recognition about it.
I have said "Happy Anniversary!" but that was always the extent of it.
She says Newsday always has little things for people's anniversaries.
Do you do anything for your parents on their anniversary?
That being said, my parents being together for 40 years is inspiring and so wonderful!
My parents are married for 37 years and EVERY year we (my sisters and I) MUST acknowledge their day! I get that its a special day for them, but why the kids have to buy gifts is beyond me. It should be a special day for the two of them, for them to share...I can see getting a card, but NOOOO, we MUST give a gift!!
LOL- ssame here.
Last year we were all in Montauk on their anniversary. I had gotten them a card, and forgot to bring it out of the car. I came accross it in my glove compartment a few weeks ago. Oops. I'm surprised my mother never said anything.

Poll - Do you acknowledge your parents anniversary?
I say "happy anniversary" but that's about it. Their 30th was a few years ago and unfortunately I was;t in a position to do anything big for them. Maybe for their 40th....if they don't kill each other before then!

Re: Poll - Do you acknowledge your parents anniversary?
Yes we celebrate everyone's anniversaries every year. Some years are a bigger deal than others (25th, 30th, 40th, etc). Usually we all go out to dinner. Since having kids I usually get small personal gifts from the kids and always a card from me and DH.
I exist because of that union, so I personally feel like it should be acknowledged and celebrated, but then again in DH's family no one really does anything for each other's anniversaries. I don't even know when any of them are. I can only remember ONE year where we celebrated my ILs anni.
