NYC CABS
do you really tip 20%? I feel thats A LOT. I give a few dollars but my bf always does 20%. last night a 15 min cab ride he gave a $12 tip. part of the fare was a bridge toll. Am i wrong? we cant seem to agree...

When I'm in the city, I usually DO tip 20%.. but not on purpose. Like.. if the ride is $8, I'll usually give him a $10.. just because I round up. KWIM? I probably would've given 20% based on the actual fare (not including tolls).

i always pay by charge and tip the 15% option. If the driver is particularly accommodating, I'll go to 20% (or 25%), but 15% is my norm.

If the total is under $20, I usually round up to the next dollar and then add a dollar. If it's over $20, I'll round up and add $2.

Yes but that's because I pay with a card and it is so easy with the 20% option! My DH gives 30% and I always give him a nudge because I don't know why he does that. I realized how much it was when I came home from airport yesterday and my tip was over $10.

I haven't seen the 15% option in a while.....it's 20%, 25%, 30%.
