Sucks!

I feel like I'm wearing foggy goggles from the ointment.

Tell me I'm not the only one who has had it this late in life!

Re: Pink eye as an adult

I got it a few years ago and it was awful!
Both eyes.
One minute I was fine the next I felt something oozing out of my eye like snot Chat Icon ,and it felt like glass was in my eye or sand.
Looked in the mirror and freaked out.

The Dr at urgent care that night took one look at me and said, and I quote, "Holy Shit!"

It's never good when a Dr says Holy shit when looking at you!

It took a long time to clear up too- I had the really expensive drops (luckily my insurance was top notch so I didn't have to pay more than the $5 copay for it) and it still took almost a week to feel and look better

Some advice:
Change your pillow case every night and wash them in HOT water. The nurse told me that is the fastest way to keep reinfecting yourself- sleeping on a pillowcase that has been contaminated

Change your towel and washcloth each day and wash in HOT water

Toss all your eye make up

It SUCKSSSSS I know
Feel better!

yea he drops were over $300. i told the pharmacist I'd rather let my eye fall out. Dr. called in other drops. I am pretty sure I got it on a flight. I fell asleep with my face on the cloth seat. ick!

Ive had pink eye a few times and ONLY during my adult life. Not once as a child, teen or in college. I was 28ish the first time I got it.

This was me a few weeks ago. I got a horrible case in both eyes. I got it from my sons. Theirs cleared up in a few days- mine took about 7.
Agree about washing towels and pillowcases- I also sanitizer my makeup brushes.

DONT touch your vaginal area... it could spread, it is the same infection as a sexually transmitted disease

wash your hands really good

Wash your hands constantly! And just keep all his towels etc separate and wash in HOT water.
It's very catchy but when I had it nobody in my house got it.

I had pink eye over Christmas and it is extremely contagious. As soon as I got the drops for one, it jumped over to the next eye. The good thing is it clears up quickly with the antibiotic eye drops. Your insurance should cover it. I had a $5 co-payment for mine.
