How much do you spend on your own kids for the holidays?
I just buy but as Dh and I we don't buy toys for her during the year only Christmas and her bday. Dh just asks that there be a place for whatever we buy her. I started shopping in Aug and have gotten some great deals.
She gets small gifts from other people but not any of the big gifts we buy her

We spend a lot, like hundreds per child. I don't see how I could budget $100 when items are so $$$.
For example they want a Sophia the first royal prep academy, That was $60 and then the accompanying dolls another $40, so right there for 1 thing I'm at $100....
I love making Christmas morning magical and the excitement when they see the big things set up in the living room. I'm a sucker... lol

How much do you spend on your own kids for the holidays?
In the past, I haven't spent much since my family overdoes it. We open presents with my parents Christmas morning so they have more than enough to open.
DH 1's b-day is also on the 21st and everyone wants to make sure that he doesn't get shafted so he gets a lot in December.
We buy things throughout the year though - since he only gets gifts in December.

When they were younger probably $200-300 each. But now that they're getting older, I'm definitely spending more in the $500 range for each of them. But I also have to do 8 nights if Chanukah as well as Christmas, so I need a bigger budget. At least that's what I tell myself.

$100 per kid.
We don't get them presents from us... It's all from santa.
We do ONE themed present & they remember that Santa brought them that particular present.
We did a dress up dress & DVD for DD last year.
Did dinosaur toy collection & book for DS.
I hate too much stuff. It's so easy to overdo it.
A quality present is so much better.

Last year I spent too much, but really only bought for DS1 b/c DS2 was 3 months. This year I'm hoping to spend the same amount, but split between the two of them. I've already bought most everything and we are right on track.

We celebrate both holidays, so about 200$ in total. This year, however, we are keeping it simple. Our home is on the market and we have no room for stuff.

A lot. 
I don't really set a budget for my kids, I do for my other Xmas shopping, but not for them. I love playing Santa, it's the one time of year where I can really spoil them......... So I do!! 
THIS! DH and I just do stockings for each other so we can spend extra on the kids!

Way too much. We have Chanukah, Christmas and DS1's birthday all in December. DH actually does a lot of the buying and he's worse than I am with spending on the kids.

I'm not planning to spend much. My in-laws & my mom will get him a lot I'm sure, and he's too young to really understand anyway. We will just wrap a few things for him to open Christmas morning. I'm hoping to spend less than $100.

agreed. Last year we went a little overboard. I'm going to start buckling down though when the second comes. I really spoil my dd.

I budgeted $200 for DS1 and $100 for DS2 (he'll be roughly 3 weeks old at Christmas). I've been shopping for a while and have so much stuff for DS1 already and am only at $100. I have some bigger ticket items in mind, but his birthday is in February, so I'll save one big gift for then.

We have two and we never really set a budget, but between both sets of grandparents, and aunts & uncles, they get SO MUCH STUFF. So we don't go crazy. Next Christmas we will have 4 so we are going to have to start being strict with a budget.

What do open on Xmas morning then? I have a huge family too and my kids get a lot from them but I still buy a lot for Xmas morning from Santa. I love the Xmas morning present opening!!
Do you save some of the family gifts to open for Xmas morning? Just wondering. 
We are Jewish  My kids don't get the concept yet of the holidays - DD1 is 3 1/2 and I think she is just at the point of understanding now. We will light the candles each night for Hanukkah, and some nights my parents will probably come over and give them gifts. Otherwise, we get together with my immediate family one day, DH's immediate family one day, then one day with my extended family and one day with DH's - it is too much.

This. My 3yo isnt too bad because I can get him 15 items and still say under 300.
However last year my then 6yo got the wiiU that one gift alone was over $300. So his budget was higher than his brothers.

Same here! I know soon enough he'll be asking for expensive things so I'll make up for it then when he knows what's going on.

How much do you spend on your own kids for the holidays?
We have a tiny apartment and a huge family that spoils DS.
We probably spend about $100. His bday and Christmas are only a couple months apart so it's this huge influx of toys for 2 months and then a dry spell for 10 months. So I try to buy things I know will get use during the entire year while trying to keep a modest budget.
Next Christmas we will have a house and space and a tree for the first time. I can't promise I won't go crazy finally getting to put gifts out under it.

We usually spend around $100 per kid--we have 2 kids.
We have a lot of out-of-town family that send gifts for them that they open on Christmas morning, so really it would be silly for us to spend a lot on them because it all just becomes too much, very quickly.
The gifts that we buy for them are their gifts from Santa.

Same. No budget here at all which means it is several hundred, 400-500 last year, for 1 child, DS1. DS2 was a tiny last year but will be 16 months at Christmas so he'll be getting several things also. 2 things alone on his list add up to $160 and I have 3-4 other things on his list.
I'm afraid of how much we'll spend this year but we have fun doing it!
