First AF after birth?
My DD is 8 weeks old. I have still not getting my period so I called the gyno who suggested I take progestin for 7 days to jump start my period.
Anyone else do this? Is it safe? Did you feel sick from it?
I only formula fed, not breast fed so I am not sure if this is a normal time frame to still not have a first period after giving birth...

I took progesterone going through Ivf. Wouldn't it prevent you from getting a period though?
I got my period within 8 weeks of stopping nursing if that helps as a time frame.

First AF after birth?
Your response prompted me to google this and it seems they want me to take progestin?! I guess that is different.. It seems to be a birth control and supposedly after 7 days of taking it I would get my period? Ugh! I wish I would just get it on my own, I hate taking meds!

If you're not comfortable taking meds them wait it out a little longer.

Honestly 8 weeks isn't that long. I wouldn't take anything artificial just yet. I'd wait it out a bit. You don't want your period back, trust me. It's no fun after having had a baby. Enjoy it!

Truth. I EP and I got it back after 4 1/2 weeks!!! I feel gypped! First couple of times was light and over in a couple of days. Last 2 times I felt like I was in labor again lol

I would wait. I personally hate having my period and unless you are planning on TTC who cares!

I agree. Unless there is a reason you need it to start I would wait it out.

First AF after birth?
Oh wow. I had no idea this was so common to not get ur period for quite some time. I am def. going to wait it out. I am in no rush to get my period but lately my hormones feel very out of wack and my gyno suggested it may be because I haven't started my period yet. I am not really comfy rushing into meds right away so I guess I will wait a bit longer. Thanks all =)
